What is Cyberbullying?
Cyberbullying is the practice of insulting and hurting someone through digital devices.
Cyberbullying usually occurs in:
- Social medias platforms like Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, etc.
- Text messages and messaging apps
- Online chatting over the internet.
- Emails.
- Online gaming communites.
Examples of Cyberbullying
Impersonation: fake accounts or profiles to impersonate the victim or to get access to the victims social media account and posting inappropriate contents.
Cyberstalking: when someone uses social media to repeatedly harass, intimidate, and threatening someone.
Flaming: when someone posts mean and harsh comments on someone elses post, invoking negativity towards the victim. It usual involves foul and vulgar language.
Outing: when a person shares someones private information to publicly humiliate them. This can include photos, videos, emails, and text messages.
Trickery: similar to outing, but instead the person befriends to the victim with the intention of revealing the victims private information online.
Harassment: it involves the repeated sending of hostile, abusive or threatening messages to an individual or a group.
Trolling: a deliberate act of provoking a response through the use of some type of foul statements, such as insults or inappropriate language or images online.
Gossiping: when someone posts rumors and gossips about someone online.
Exclusion: creating groups or events and intentionally excluding someone, to make them feel left out.

What to do when Cyberbullying happens
If cyberbullying occurs, the best option is to report the person immediately. This way, legal action will be taken against the offender. If someone posts inappropriate pictures of you or anyone else, ask them to remove or take it down, if they do not comply- you can sue them for it. If you have been affected by cyberbullying in any way, dont hesitate to reach out for help from friends and family.😛
