A computer network is a group of two or more computers and other devices that are linked through cables or wireless connections.

 

LAN vs WAN.

 

LAN (Local area network)	WAN (wide area network)
A LAN interconnect computer in a small area, such as office and home	A WAN covers a broader area that exceed a country’s border, such as the internet is a type of a WAN

 

Topology

Network topology is the way in which computers interconnect

 

 

Point to point network topology:

This is the simplest topology

 

Bus network topology:

A network setup where all nods are connected to a single central cable known as the backbone or bus
