Defintion of intellectual property 

Intellectual  proprty ( sometimes known as IP) refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artstic works; designs; and symbols, names and images used commerce 
















What is Plagiarism? 

Plagiarsim means using someone else'swork without giving them  proper credit. in academic, writing , plagiarizing involves using words, ideas, or involves using words, ideas, or information from a source without citing it correctly. in practice, this can mean a few different things . 







Why licenses must be respected

Respecting licenses is essential for maintaining legal compliance, protecting  intellectual  property, ensuring saftey, and fostering a fair trustworthy enviroment for creators and businesses 












Examples of protected work :

literary works : novels, poems plays newspapers and computer programs .
artistic works : piantings , drawings , photographs and sulpture.
derivative works : a movie that waas made based on a novel , data collected from a study for all the different species of fish in geograhical area and collated into a database.



What is a software license 

A software license is a legal agreement between the software creator and the end user , granting rights to use  and distribute the software under sepecific terms . it outlines user responsibilities, limits claims aganist the owner, and may restrict how the software can legally be used 

types of licenses( freeware,shareware,freemium)

freeware;   loosely defined as a type of propietary software, that it's being didtributed at no cost whatsoever for the user, freeware is the answer to accomplishing very simple takes without the need of investing in expensive, licence- based software .


Shareware: probably most of the apps found online and offline fall under this category. Shareware is so widespread that it 'felt' the need to have its own consortiun.

freemuim : a portmanteau term ( " free ''+  ''premuim'' ) describing a type of software that withholds advanced features , making them available in the premuium version .
