1;you type an adress into the browsers adress bar.
2;your browser sends a request to your ISP server asking for the page 
3;your ISP server searches a huge database of internet(ip)


The diffrence between client and server

A client is a device or program that uses the internet to make service requests, while a server is a device or software that fulfills those requests for clients.
